  1. Hi Tami,

I am a volunteer coordinating the Boston Marrowthon for Eve, and I'm delighted that you are spreading the word about our drives. The Boston community has many people of Asian heritage because of all our schools and medical facilities, so I hope we will find a donor for you as well as Eve and all the other patients who are looking for their matches!

    Love,
    Louise Cohen, Brookline, Mass.

  2. Hit Tami,

I am a recipient of a bone marrow transplant and it is because of the efforts of the Gift of Life that I am alive today. It is critical that you get in touch with the Asian community in the Boston area so that they can come to our drives.
    Please see http://www.giftoflife.org/Public/Events.aspx
to look for events in either MA, RI or NH

    GOod luck,
    Evie

  3. Thanks Evie,

This is Tami's cousin Stacie. Unfortunately at this time we do not have any contacts in the Boston area and really have our hands full at the moment just getting things together on the West coast. But thanks for letting us know that Boston should be a priority. We'll work on finding some contacts within the Asian community there somehow asap.

So glad to hear you were able to find a match yourself. It's reassuring to hear from people who have beat the odds.

  4. Hi Tami -

I had my transplant for leukemia at Fred Hutch right before my 42nd birthday with two young girls (10 and 12)and my husband by my side. I will celebrate TEN years this July. The folks at the Hutch are simply the greatest - they will do everything they can to help you. CHOOSE HOPE - I am praying this match comes through for you. Good luck!

Let your body heal. Your cousin has done an excellent job in spreading the word of the need for marrow registry she has helped many. Prayers are with you

  13. Thanks so much for creating this wonderful website!! I have wanted to get involved but didn't really know where to start, besides talking to people about joining and educating them.

Keep fighting the good fight and may God bless you.
